About the Event

Loss affects us all differently.  Love is a powerful universal healing balm.  Join us for a day of renewal through movement, art, and sound healing.

The workshop Transforming Grief thru Movement, Art, and Sound will begin with our opening circle on our floating bamboo dance floor.  With a grounding exercise we will connect to each other, to spirit, and set our intentions for our day of healing.

The flow will gently transition into conscious movement, JourneyDance, to apply love, allow emotions, and bring forth renewal of spirit, hope and joy.

Next each participant will create a personalized piece of art using the kintsugi concept to honor your strong, beautiful heart.

We will close with a sound bath to integrate our experience by April Hannah of Hannah's Healing.

Art, music, writing, prayer, divination, yoga stations will be available to participants in our spacious meditation room throughout the workshop.

JourneyDance:

JourneyDance is a dance movement practice that releases stored energy to make room for healing and growth.

There is no teacher, just a facilitator.  This is your dance.  Your time.  Your story.  You get to move to music in any way that your body wants to move.  There are no mirrors in JourneyDance.  No right or wrong.  There is no comparing yourself to anyone.  Get into your own zone, make your own shapes and movements, all without judgement.  Open to people with any level of physical ability.  Facilitated by Jean Trewhella

Kintsugi Mended Heart Art

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold, silver, or platinum.

Transformation is not just about putting the pieces of one’s broken life back together, it’s about a total reinvention of self in which our shattered pieces are alchemized into a beautiful, thriving masterpiece.

Join artist and conscious relationship coach JuliAnn Gessler during the workshop where you will create a personalized piece of art using the kintsugi concept to honor your strong, beautiful heart. Every experience we have, whether joyful or heartbreaking, can make us stronger and increase our capacity to love ourselves and others.

Each person will receive a painted heart which you will then rip into pieces symbolizing any heartbreaking and disappointing experiences you have had. Next you will reassemble the pieces and paint the “cracks” with metallic gold paint making the piece even more beautiful than it was when you began. This process is very therapeutic in itself and you will have a beautiful visual reminder of the power of transformation.

During the process we will be discussing our experiences and paths to transformation.

Sound Bath

Studies have shown that sound has a direct impact on the mental processes, muscles, nervous system, digestive system and circulatory system.

Crystal Bowls - These beautiful and luminescent bowls made of 99.998% pure quartz crystal, emit a healing matrix of sound wherever they're played, creating a deep and expansive sound that will harmonize the body's deep tissues and systems. Alignment with these tones is one of the most beneficial and dynamic forms of sound healing found today.

Koshi Chimes - Elegant wooden chimes that sweetly sing harmoniously, bringing clarity and joy to the room. The beautiful overtones create a massage-like effect on the body. They put the body into a gentle state of relaxation, creating harmony, inner peace.
